May 28 - 31, 2024 (4-day workshop)
Find inspiration in glistening glass! The focus in this course is to learn the basics of stained glass using the copper foil method. Participants will complete two projects designed to develop skills in pattern design of colors, cutting and grinding glass, foiling, soldering, and wrapping the finished pieces in came. The third project can be one designed by you, or a pattern of your choice.
We will also discuss tools, solutions, and safety considerations for the home studio.
Caution: Stained glass has been known to be a gateway to a glass art addiction!
This class meets from 9am to 5pm each day, Monday through Wednesday, with additional studio time Monday and Tuesday, from 5pm to 9pm. Materials for participating in the course are included. If you have specific colors you are interested in working with please bring them with you.
Charlyn Moellers is an independent artist and educator. She currently instructs glass workshops and serves as a Glass Center Assistant at Salem Community College.
Additional Information
- Participation limited to students 18 years of age and up.
- Lunch is available for an additional fee; $80 for 4-day workshops.
- Classes meet 9 am to 5 pm each day. Students will have additional practice time the first three evenings of the course, Tuesday through Thursday, from 5 pm to 9 pm.
- Materials for participating in the course are included. If you have specific colors you are interested in working with please bring them with you.
- Any work from the final day of the course remaining in a kiln will be available for pick up beginning the following Monday. Students may have finished worked shipped for an additional fee.
